PLANTING trees is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and its reward continues even after the death of the person who plants a tree.
Today the world is facing environmental problems. Global warming, ozone depletion and pollution are burning issues. Solution to these problems lies in planting more trees.
Trees and plants are the prime source of environmental purification and beautification. Trees inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen, reduce temperature and create a healthy effect, both physically and psychologically, on human beings.
In fact, forests are the only natural industry which produces oxygen. According to international standards, area under forests should form at least 25 per cent of the total land inhabited by a human population.
But the area covered by forests in our country has been reduced to about 5 per cent of the total land. These statistics do not include the frontier areas. In such circumstances we should plant more and more trees.
A famous quote reads, “Imagine if trees gave off WiFi signals we’d be planting so many trees, we’d probably save the planet. Too bad they only produce oxygen we breathe”. It is sad how we have grown so accustomed to technology that we overlook the harmful impact it is having on our environment. Not only is the use of technology destroying nature but it is also separating us from the same.
In pursuance of this resolve, The Honourable Business Man And Chief Executive News10 Mr. Abubakr Memon has announced a tree plantation campaign for a week (5th March to 12 March). There is no blinking in the fact, Mr. Abubakar Memon’s call for plantation campaign is warmly welcomed by Not only the people of Sindh but the whole nation too has applauded such a massive announcement.

They can change any calamity into an opportunity. All they need is proper guidance and encouragement.
In a situation, where a large number of people are chopping down trees to use wood as a fuel to cook food. The Plantation week is like a moon in the dark.
Even, when the importance of tree plantation is so evident, there are only a handful of people who actually take it as their responsibility to indulge in this activity. The rest are so engrossed in their lives that they do not understand that without enough trees around we wouldn’t be able to live long. It is time we must recognize the importance of tree plantation and contribute our bit towards the same.
Undoubtedly, the Importance of tree plantation has been stressed upon time and again. The need for tree plantation has become even greater these days because of the growing pollution in the environment. Tree plantation involves transplanting tree seedlings to grow forests and spread greenery around.
In fact, More and more trees must be planted if we really want to survive and lead a good life.
