PM Imran Khan to uplift oppressed segments of society: Firdous

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says homeless people would get shelter under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to uplift the oppressed segments of society and the ground breaking of the first phase of Naya Pakistan Housing Project by him in Renala Khurd is a step towards the goal.

To a question, Firdous Ashiq Awan said Maryam Nawaz has been named as vice president of PML-N, which is a violation of law. She said a convict cannot hold a party office.

The Special Assistant said Pakistan and corruption cannot go together. She urged opposition to play a positive role in the parliament.

To another query, she said petroleum prices in the country have increased due their rise in international market.
