Saudi Arabia to start issuing tourist visa from tomorrow as part of push to diversify its economy

Saudi Arabia will start issuing tourist visa from today as part of a push to diversify its economy.

According to chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Ahmad Al-Khatib, the electronic tourist visa will be issued within a record time of seven minutes and the beneficiaries of the visa include tourists from forty-nine countries.

There is no need for the applicant to mention his religion while applying for the visa.

Promotion of tourism is the part of 2030 reform program made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in order to prepare the biggest Arab economy for a post-oil era.
